How to Auto-Add Users’ Email Addresses to Devices
ManagementStudio has a great feature where it can send emails to items such as users, applications or devices. This is extremely useful for notifying people that an update is about to be deployed, asking them to fill in a survey, or send them a self-scheduling link.
With users there’s generally an email address available (via the data from the Active Directory connector) but for applications and devices this requires an additional step. For these types of record the system needs to understand who the primary user of that item is, and their email address.
The solution article linked below shows how to automatically add the primary user of each device’s email address to that device record, enabling the system to “send emails” to that device.
